How do I get access to local academic libraries as a TCC student?
Answer
Current TCC students, faculty, and staff can check out materials from most local academic libraries. See the options below.

Visit a campus library with your TCC ID and fill out an application at the circulation desk. To get the VTC library card, you must be a currently enrolled student at TCC and in good standing with TCC Libraries (no overdue books or debts). | Take your TCC ID and proof of current affiliation with TCC (e.g. your class schedule for students or your listing in the staff directory for faculty/staff). |
Tips for making the most of your visit to a VTC or VIVA library:
- Read the library's policies on loan periods and fines and fees. You will be responsible for returning that library's material to that library.
- Consider searching the library's catalog or WorldCat to ensure they have the resource(s) you're looking for.
- Interlibrary loan is also an option to have materials delivered to your campus. These materials can be returned to your TCC campus as well.
