LibChat Settings

Answer

There are multiple settings that will determine which chats and tickets you will have the opportunity to claim.

1. Overall Status: Once you’ve logged into LibAnswers, from the dashboard, click Sign In to get started with LibChat.

Remember to set your overall status to “Offline” when you are unavailable and/or logging off.

2. Local Monitoring Status: Under Settings, on the Local Monitoring tab, you can identify which Departments you are monitoring. TCC Libraries – Reference Desk is the Ask a Librarian chat. If you are not covering the TCC Libraries – In-House chat, mark yourself offline for that department.

3. Co-Op Monitoring Status: When you are logged on for your VCCS shift, you will need to ensure that your settings in LibAnswers are “Online” for the Co-Op. If you only want to claim TCC-affiliated tickets, you can set yourself “Offline” for the Co-Op. Under Settings, on the Co-Op Monitoring tab, you can toggle between Offline and Online. You can also click “Check Status” to see how many people are monitoring the Co-Op.

Remember to log off after your shift!
