Create a Shelf List Report using Alma Analytics
Special thanks to Beverly Hills for these instructions!
Example: I want an item count for all library materials at the Chesapeake Campus with the call number M.
Answer
General process:
Open ALMA and navigate to Analytics. Once in Analytics use the Cataloging dashboard. Dashboards are used to group different types of reports into one place. The Cataloging dashboard has several reports available. I’ll use the Shelf list report, select my criteria, and run the report. After I run the report, I’ll export it (Data in Excel format). I then open the Excel spreadsheet, enable editing, click on a column and get the item count.
Step 1: Open ALMA and navigate to Analytics
Step 2: Access Analytics
Step 3: Navigate to the Cataloging Dashboard
Step 4: Use the Shelf List report and fill in the criteria. In this case I choose Chesapeake Campus and call numbers M, ML, MT. Click OK.
Step 5: Scroll to the bottom of the report and click export. Select Data and Excel.
Step 7: Open the Excel file, enable editing, and then click on physical item column to get the item count.
Result: Chesapeake Campus has 307 items (all formats, all locations) in the M call number.
