If the patron tried to log on to the wrong network and the settings are saved on the device, go to the Wi-Fi settings, forget or disconnect from the wrong network, and then try and log into the correct one.
If a Community or VBPL patron is unable to log in, check the Alma account for the following:
Check the last name.
Was it entered correctly, with initial capital letter only?
Does it have hyphens, commas, or other odd data anomalies?
Does it include a suffix such as SR. or JR., the password may be Smith Sr. or Smith Jr.
Check the account’s expiration date (found under Local Patron Information). If expired, update the record following Community patron update procedures. Wi-Fi should be available the next day.
VBPL patrons must renew through VBPL - do not update these expirations dates. Patron can call (757)822-7007 or (757)385-0150.
If a Student cannot log on using myTCC credentials:
Verify the password by asking them to sign on to a desktop computer and log in to myTCC.
Verify that they are currently enrolled by checking the expiration date of their Alma record. It should be within one week of a year from today.
