What services are available to local high school students?

Answer

Local high school students can have varying levels of access to TCC library resources and services. Information about borrowing privileges for different types of patrons, including dual enrollment students, Virginia Beach Public Library cardholders, and community patrons, can be found on the Circulation Borrowing Guide.

  • Dual enrollment students (those earning TCC credits in courses through their high school) can get more information on the Dual Enrollment Research Guide. DE students have on- and off-campus access to TCC digital resources using their myTCC credentials and may visit the libraries with their TCC IDs, which also function as library cards.
  • Virginia Beach Public Library cardholders are able to visit the Joint-Use Library and other TCC campus libraries, request print and A/V materials from the other campuses, and use the computer labs to access TCC digital resources.
  • Students at high schools other than Virginia Beach are encouraged to use their local public libraries and high school libraries, but all Virginia residents are eligible for a VBPL card.
