How to Renew User’s Loans
Answer
STEP 1: Search for patron in Alma.
STEP 2: On the My Institution - Loans page, click Loans in the left box.
STEP 3: On the list of current loans, do one of the following steps. A pop-up message will say the loan was renewed successfully or not. *WHEN THE ITEM(S) GET RENEWED, THE PATRON WILL RECEIVE A “BORROWING ACTIVITY LETTER” VIA EMAIL.
- Check the box next to the title(s) to be renewed. Click Renew Selected.
- Click Renew All to renew all titles.
- Click Renew in the box of the title to be renewed.
Additional information on renewing items
- Patrons can renew item(s) up to the due date.
- One renewal is allowed to make the item available to other patrons.
- Renewals are not allowed if there is a hold or it is overdue.
- A staff member can renew overdue items, it is not advisable if the items are long overdue or if the patron has been billed. The item has already been made unavailable for too long for other patrons.
- Reserves are not renewable.
